[NYPOST] Romania's top court annulled the first round of presidential elections on Friday over allegations that Russia interfered to prop up far-right outsider Calin Georgescu, who won the first round. The unprecedented, binding decision from the country's Constitutional Court means that the second round run-off election scheduled for Sunday, which would have pitted Georgescu and his centrist rival Elena Lasconi against each other, has been canceled. Sitting President Klaus Iohannis declassified intelligence on Wednesday that revealed Russia ran a sweeping social media campaign consisting of thousands of accounts to promote Georgescu across platforms like TikTok and Telegram. Georgescu, an outsider nationalist who claimed he spent zero money campaigning, suddenly emerged as the front-runner on Nov. 24. #5 Yeah, there was some real hanky-panky going on there (intimidation, fake endorsements, forged ballots, etc. - not unlike a few locales in the US 2020 election cycle). National polling 2 weeks before the election had Georgescu at less than 1%. From CNN. |

#3 What will they do if the remote yields the same result? I expect that there will be some games played with candidates added and dropped to try to screw him. |

#2 Well, the EU charter said on ratification if any member declined it killed the compact. Denmark and Ireland declined and they made them have a 'do over' till they got the answer they wanted. |
