The Russians are trying to break through in the south of the Donetsk region. We are talking about the Dnieper direction, where the enemy is actively conducting combat reconnaissance in order to identify the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and is preparing for assault operations.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Defense Forces of the South, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Armiya.Inform writes.
"On the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions, the enemy is preparing to carry out assault actions and soon, there is a high probability that he will start assault actions, trying to wedge into our defense," Voloshyn notes.
The enemy is preparing small groups of infantry, which conduct classes specifically for assault operations. In addition, in the southern directions, the enemy drops ammunition, conducts aerial reconnaissance, using UAVs, engineering reconnaissance, advance routes.
"The enemy is actively trying to hit the previously identified ones in these directions... and finds out where our fire equipment is located, tries to suppress and destroy them in order to make it easier for them to conduct assault actions," the spokesman added.
During the past day, the enemy used combat equipment only to transport groups of infantry and, in the event of that, to support their assault actions with fire.
"The enemy is trying to break through to the south of Donetsk region, at the junction of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where one of the largest settlements in this area is located - Velyka Novosilka," Vladyslav Voloshyn summarized.
The General Staff informs: 227 combat clashes were recorded during the past day. Most of the clashes were recorded in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhiv and Vremiv directions.
