Distributed Common Ground System Army (DCGS-A) was a costly contractor dependent abortion. I'll stop short of calling Palantir an analytical penicillin, but the young troops certainly thought highly of it, and where is the proprietary POS DCGS-A today? Spit. |

#2 After 9/11 our military found that the IC was useless as a source of info during military ops in c.f. Iraq. So they ramped up their own program, with GEN Flynn taking the lead and facing the fury of the Beltway. Thiel's Palantir helped them enormously, again working around a massively costly, late, and ponderous Army info system that embedded top down control of analyses. Hence this budget vs that of the DNI. |
