Police issued a statement confirming the deaths and injuries with no further details about how the attack at General Kaahiye police academy happened. A man disguised as a police officer was reported to have set off his explosives at the gate of the police academy at around 3:30 p.m. local time. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the bomb explosion in Mogadishu targeting key police facility.
