[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are engaged in heavy fighting in the east and south of Ukraine.
The Kurakhovskoye direction became hotter - the enemy attacked 12 times near the settlements of Tsukurino, Georgievka, Kurakhovo, Konstantinovka and Yekaterinovka.
Since the beginning of the day, 57 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The Russians are most actively attacking in the Kurakhovsky direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report as of 16:00 on Wednesday, October 2.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, one enemy attack was repelled in the Volchansk area.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russians carried out five assaults near Sinkovka and Andreyevka. Four combat clashes have ended, another one is ongoing.
In the Liman direction, the invaders attacked six times near Grekovka, Nevsky, Novosadovy and Torsky. All assaults were repelled.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders carried out assault actions twice. The Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped one attack by the Russians near Ivanovskoye, another battle continues in the area of ​​Belaya Gora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked nine times near the settlements of Dilievka, Toretsk, Nelipovka, Shcherbinovka. Three battles ended without success for the occupiers, another six are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 11 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Vozdvizhenka, Novotoretskoye, Nikolaevka, Kruty Yar, Novogrodovka, Selidovo. The defense forces repelled eight attacks, three clashes are still ongoing.

Earlier on Wednesday, it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had withdrawn from Ugledar after fierce battles that lasted more than two years. The command made this decision due to the threat of encirclement of the city.
