[ColonelCassad] Kursk region: changing nature of military operations in the direction and enemy tactics
For two weeks now, the nature of military actions in the Kursk tactical direction has been moving significantly towards the "SVO", namely, trench warfare and local offensives in areas. The enemy command, having joined this adventure, quickly understood what and how, and after the attack on the Kursk NPP turned out to be unsuccessful, decided to build defensive structures in the territories under its control.
If at first we encountered the "old" format of war, where there were small arms battles, ambushes and artillery exchanges, now the general picture of military actions is moving into the channel we are accustomed to - the enemy digs in, and we pick at him. Perhaps I will write about this below.
So, what we have at this stage: the groups of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries have been mostly withdrawn from combat missions, where they were rotated by regular units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of whoever came along. But "anybody" has a completely different combat tactic - if you can conduct a small-arms fight with special forces almost in the open, then the victims of the TCC and other Ukrainian Armed Forces tend to quickly dig in upon arrival at the position, as a result of which you have to literally pick at their positions, which from a military point of view is serious work.
The enemy also actively changes logistics routes, preferring hastily created crossings and fields to main roads. This increases the time of delivery/evacuation, but allows the enemy to more or less preserve the personnel involved in the above-mentioned activities.
Together with regular units, the enemy pulls in UAV specialists - sometimes they work almost from the front line, brazenly, hoping that they will catch our units by surprise, but we have found a countermeasure to these "jokes". Active use of not only FPV, but also Baba Yaga agrodrones is recorded, with the help of which the enemy is trying to burn down civilian houses and conduct remote mining of the area.
The strategic initiative of the enemy after the failure of the "counteroffensive" in the Kursk region is generally clear: having an endless human resource (TCK will catch more), the Armed Forces of Ukraine are going to tie down units of the Russian Armed Forces in battles in the Kursk region, in order to subsequently strike in another direction.
