"Representatives of Russia have not participated in any meetings within the framework of the "Bürgenstock process" and do not intend to participate. This process itself has nothing to do with the settlement," her comments, published on the website of the Foreign Ministry, read.
Zakharova called such “peace summits” another manifestation of fraud by “the Anglo-Saxons and their Ukrainian puppets,” specifying that another such event is intended to push through the unviable so-called “peace formula” of the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, as an uncontested basis for resolving the conflict, to gain support for it in the world, and, on his behalf, to present Russia with an ultimatum to capitulate.
"We will not participate in such 'summits'. But we do not reject the political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis, we are ready to discuss truly serious proposals that take into account the situation "on the ground", the emerging geopolitical realities and the corresponding initiative formulated on June 14 by the President (of Russia) Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Without Russia and taking into account its interests, it is impossible to achieve a fair and sustainable settlement," the diplomat noted.
She emphasized that Kyiv and Western countries do not think about this because they need an armed conflict, which is confirmed by the invasion of Ukrainian formations into the border area of the Kursk region and permission for Western weapons strikes deep into Russia, which Zelensky is asking for.
"This is a continuation of terror against the population of our country. We will not talk to terrorists," Zakharova concluded.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on September 21, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry denied reports about the alleged participation of Russian representatives in online meetings with Kiev in preparation for the second summit in Switzerland. She emphasized that the Russian Federation will not participate in such fraudulent initiatives.
On September 20, Zelensky announced his alleged intention to end the conflict with Russia. According to him, this supposedly requires strengthening Ukraine as much as possible and holding a second “peace” summit.
Moscow has repeatedly noted that it is ready for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine, provided that all of the demands of the Russian Federation set before the start of the special operation are met, as well as provided that the new territorial realities are recognized. Thus, on September 20, member of the State Duma Defense Committee Viktor Zavarzin stated that Russia will not negotiate a settlement of the conflict on Kiev's terms. He added that the Russian president had previously outlined the conditions for the negotiations.
On September 6, Putin reaffirmed Russia's readiness for dialogue if Ukraine shows a desire in deeds, not in words, but first it is necessary to drive Ukrainian militants out of the border area of Kursk Oblast. The head of state recalled that the current Ukrainian government is illegitimate, since Zelensky's presidential term has ended, and he canceled the elections, citing martial law.
