The military events in the Sea of Japan will last a week. During this period, they will practice repelling an attack by a simulated enemy from the air, water and underwater, joint maneuvering and defense when moored in an unprotected roadstead. The ships' crews will have to perform artillery fire and a set of combat exercises, using anti-aircraft and anti-submarine weapons.
The Russian side is represented in the exercises by the anti-submarine ships Admiral Panteleyev and Admiral Tributs, the small anti-submarine ships MPK-82 and MPK-107, and the small missile ship Smerch. The People's Liberation Army Navy of China is sending the destroyers Xining and Wuxi, the frigate Lin Yi, and the comprehensive supply ship Taihu to participate in the training.
