[Regnum] Three Russian marines captured and thus saved seven soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from death, leading them out from under fire. This was written by military correspondent Alexander Kots in an article for Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to the Ukrainians, their own command chose to abandon them during the retreat. Russian soldiers captured them and spent two days in the same basement with them, waiting out the shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"It so happened that we sat in this basement with them for two days. And they shared cigarettes, dry rations, water with us. They provided medical assistance to the wounded. What did we talk about? Where are we from, how did we get here, who is waiting at home," the Ukrainians said.
They note that they ended up at the front not of their own free will, but as a result of raids on employees of territorial recruitment centers (TRCs) against the backdrop of mass mobilization.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, Kots also spoke about the rescue of three Russian soldiers in the SVO zone. According to him, the marines were driving a UAZ during an emergency evacuation in the Ugledar direction and were blown up by a TM-62 tank mine. All of them survived and even returned to duty.
In a story from September 1, Kots spoke about the heroic death of a battalion commander with the call sign Otmel, who defended his positions and, at the cost of his own life, helped his soldiers escape from encirclement.
