| #4 #2 It's called transJordania because it was supposed (according to League of Nation) to be on the other side of Jordan. The west bank, according to the partition approved by United Nation, was supposed to go to "Palestinian" Arabs. And captured by Jordan by military force. (funny, nobody protested the "occupation" then). Finally, if they didn't attack Israel in 1967, they would still have it. Well, as I've pointed in an earlier post, Israel fought Arabs with one brain lobe tied behind our back. This is changing now. So, don't expect the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to exist 20 years from now. |

| #2 OK Grom, if we're going to be accurate, it was founded as located on both banks of the Jordan River, and as such was originally named Transjordan. I'm of the 'that was then and this is now' school, but history is what was. |
