Greek cargo vessel attacked by Yemeni forces three days ago, continues to burn
2024-08-27
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The European mission in the Red Sea, known as '' Aspides '', reported on Monday that a fire continues to blaze on a Greek-flagged ship following an attack by Yemeni armed forces three days ago.

In a statement posted on X platform, the mission noted that there are fires on at least 5 locations observed on the main deck of the vessel.

''It is estimated that these are located around the hatches of the vessel's oil tanks. Additionally, part of the superstructure is on fire, too. So far there are no obvious signs of an oil spill,'' the statement read.

''The ship remains anchored at the same point in international waters.''

The European mission attached photographs showing the ongoing fires on the vessel.
Petroleum burns — astounding.

#8  DoD probably has 'on the shelf' plans to hit the Houthis much harder.

However, they are constrained by ROE set by POTUS.

#7  ^Kurt Schlichter: What Is Happening in the Ukraine War Should Scare the Hell Out of Us
The United States is not ready for the kind of war we are seeing played out in Ukraine, a peer-to-peer conventional fight that is rewriting the rules of what we thought war was supposed to be. And, with leadership in the White House sitting in a rocker staring slack-jawed at Matlock reruns, we are not in a position to fix what will mean defeat in our next real war.

#6   DoD doesn't know how to wage war.

Of course they know how to wage war. But perhaps waging war the old fashioned way is déclassé or something,

#5  it's a clear sign the massive DoD doesn't know how to wage war.

Well, the DoD *is* the Department of Defense. I say it's time to bring back the Department of War for situations just like this when you need to actively discourage some annoying miscreants.
