Five Secret Service Field Agents Suspended |
2024-08-24 |
[Red State] One member of Trump's personal protective detail and four members of the Pittsburgh Field Office, including the special agent in charge, have been identified for possible disciplinary action. One of the five agents was also the event coordinator. We'll soon know if this is a real investigation or a coverup. The decision to deprive Trump of adequate protection was made far above the Pittsburgh Field Office. If all the blame is placed on a handful of field agents and a pyramid of (figurative) heads isn't built outside Secret Service headquarters in Washington, then all we're seeing is a coverup perpetrated, and Congress should not stand by and let it happen. |

#12 @#3 - my hunch is that the event was designated a National Security Special Event (NSSE) due to POTUS presence. USSS would have the lead. DS would cover visiting Foreign Ministers and DoD would cove visiting Defense Ministers. |

#9 Fox News reported this morning that a Secret Service whistleblower has reported that "additional resources were request for Butler, but were denied." One might suppose the 'denial' would have come from former Secret Service Director Cheatle, friend of Dr. Jill. Not suggesting any pre-Butler rally collusion of course. |

#6 NATO is obviously a military function, so US military police, military CI, and FBI could have be used to cover such an event. The more I think about Agent Burke's response, the more implausible it appears. |

#3 ‘the USSS Special Agent in Charge Tim Burke reportedly told law enforcement partners that the USSS had limited resources that week because the agency was covering the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Washington, D.C.’ Should have been covered by Department of State's (DoS) Bureau of Deiplomatic Security.... or have responsibilities changed ? |
