[REGNUM] On the morning of August 20, Russian media published a photograph of American mercenaries in the Kursk region — members of the Forward Observations Group (FOG) private military company. “The boys in Kursk,” read the caption under the photo, which can be translated as “The boys in Kursk” (Kursk region). The photo, which appeared on Instagram on August 16, shows three mercenaries against the background of an HMMWV armored vehicle. The mercenaries' uniforms have blue identification stripes, and their faces are hidden. But one of them was quickly identified. According to RT, the person in the center of the photo is FOG founder Derrick Bales. He was recognized by his modified M4A1 rifle, as well as the distinctive skull tattoo on his right arm.
