Biden-Harris DOJ alters headline on arrest of apprehended terrorist, conceals Jordanian identity |
2024-08-21 |
According to the Department of Justice, Hashem Younis Hashem Hnaihen, 43, who is a Jordanian national residing in the state of Florida, was indicted on the aforementioned charges. Hnaihen "attacked a power facility and threatened local businesses, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages," FBI Director Christopher Wray said of the crime. Court documents state that he targeted businesses in the Orlando area for their perceived support of Israel. On Thursday, a blurb from the US Attorney's Office in the Middle District of Florida was set out with the title, "Jordanian National Indicted For Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility," as seen in a link to the blurb on Google search from Thursday. The title of the blurb was changed to "Man Arrested for Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility" and is in step with the blurb from the Office of Public Affairs for the whole DOJ, which also bears the title, "Man Arrested for Explosives Threats and Attack on Energy Facility." The URL the blurb is found under still has the ending "jordanian-national-indicted-explosives-threats-and-attack-energy-facility," however the words "Jordanian" or "Jordan" do not appear on the page of the blurb from the Florida DOJ office as of Friday. News coverage of the incident blew up after the DOJ made the announcement. |
