#2 It wasn't as rocky or volcanic as Iceland. It was warmer. They've documented the small Viking settlement in Canada and analysis of the debris dumps showed a cooling overtime that made food less and less accessible and thus unsustainable. |

#1 demonstrating that past warming events were sufficient to melt the ice and support a tundra ecosystem BUT! if current warming trends continue, the complete melting of Greenland’s ice sheet could contribute to a sea-level rise of approximately 23 feet over the next few centuries. Inquiring minds want to know - what caused the previous warming period, if not man-made CO2? Nevermind. The research serves as a stark warning about the potential consequences of human-caused climate change. |
