FBI Reported Crime Data Called Into Question
2024-08-04
[LawEnforcementToday] Is FBI data an accurate portrayal of US Crime?

No, The FBI does not Measure Crime.
The FBI measures REPORTED crime.
National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) uses data from 125 of the 154 police agencies serving cities and counties with a population of 250,000 or more who report to NIBRS.

Any bets, who runs the 29 Metros NOT reporting/providing crime data?

#5  And they even don't count all reported crime, if it does not meet their guidelines...

Running things by the numbers is generally a good way to keep tab on things. The problem is you need some discipline and honesty because it is always easier to cook the books than do the job. Once you start doing that, you are boned as far as using the numbers for anything useful.

Some will note the lack of meaningful demographic elements for National Crime Database started with the BLM / ANTI-FA / WOKE / TRANS / LGBT?? related protests and violence for years 2020+.

#2  Sets up the "Slowly at first, then all at once" scenario. Thing is it was never slow, just papered over.

#1  And all 29 metros are receiving federal law enforcement funding. No accountability.
