[Regnum] Details of the attack on a British merchant vessel off the coast of Yemen have become known. It was attacked with a missile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said in a statement on the X social network.
It is noted that the initial information about a fire on board was not confirmed. Also, no water or oil leaks were recorded.
"The vessel continues to move to the port of destination. The entire crew is safe," the Coordination Center explained.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on August 3, a British ship was attacked 170 nautical miles southwest of Aden in Yemen.
Ansar Allah leader Abdel Malek al-Houthi said the movement had attacked a total of 162 vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas since November 2023. The attacks were carried out using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones and unmanned boats.
On the night of July 20, unknown persons attacked a ship in the Red Sea off the coast of Eritrea, 64 nautical miles from Yemen. The attack was on a container ship under the flag of Liberia. As a result of two strikes, the ship received minor damage.
