[LB] Ukrainian Armed Forces Contain Russian Attacks in Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
The most intense fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsky direction in the areas of eight populated areas.
Since the beginning of the current day, 72 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The hottest is currently in the Pokrovsk direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report on Friday, August 2.
Thus, five combat clashes took place in the Kharkov direction. Our soldiers repelled four attacks near Glubokoe, Tykhoe and Vovchanskoe. Another battle is underway.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russians attempted to storm positions near Stelmakhovka twice. Both attacks were repelled.
In the Liman direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Makeyevka, Nevsky and Torsky. In total, there have already been seven combat clashes in this direction since the beginning of the day.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russians organized five assaults. Four attacks near Kleshchyivka and Ivanovskoye were repelled. Another one is continuing near Chasovy Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 10 times. Currently, four combat clashes are ongoing near Toretsk, Zheleznoye and New York. Today, the enemy dropped 12 UABs on Toretsk.
"The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. Fierce battles are taking place in the areas of Kalinovoye, Vozdvizhenka, Novoaleksandrovka, Ivanovka, Zhelannoye, Sergeyevka, Novoselovka Pervaya and Yasnobrodovka. The enemy has now made 25 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions," the statement said.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, the invaders attacked three times. They tried to advance near Krasnogorovka and Konstantinovka.
In the Vremivsky direction, four assaults towards Velikaya Novoselka were repelled.
The aggressors also carried out four unsuccessful attacks in the Dnieper direction.
Let us recall that on August 1, Russia's losses at the front amounted to 1,100 people. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the aggressor country has lost more than 580 thousand soldiers.
