[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively destroying the enemy in the east and south of Ukraine.
Enemy troops are most active in the areas of the settlements of Progress, Novoaleksandrovka, Timofeyevka and Zhelannoye.
Since the beginning of the day, 99 combat clashes have already occurred on the front. The fighting continues in 11 directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report on Monday, July 29.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, the Russians stormed positions in the areas of Glubokoe and Volchansk four times. The enemy suffered losses and retreated.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy three times actively attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units near Stelmakhovka and Peschanoye. He bombed the areas of Kupyansk and Petropavlovka.
In the Liman direction, the invading army carried out eight attacks near Nevsky, Makeyevka and Terny. Six combat clashes ended without success for the enemy, two more are ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, our defenders are repelling attacks near the settlements of Ivanodaryevka, Spornoye and Pereyezdnoye. Four of them have already ended. Two more clashes are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers carried out four assaults near Chasovy Yar, Dubovo-Vasilovka, Kleshchivka and Grigorovka. Two of them are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks since the beginning of the day has increased to 12. The enemy's efforts are concentrated in the areas of Severny, Zhelezny and New York. Our soldiers have repelled eight attacks, others are continuing.
The Pokrovsky direction saw the largest number of armed clashes – 36 assaults in the areas of 10 different settlements.
"The enemy is most active near Progress, Novoalexandrovka, Timofeevka and Zhelannoye. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have repelled 20 enemy attacks to date," the statement said.
In the Kurakhovsky direction , battles took place near Konstantinovka, Antonovka and Paraskoveyevka. During the day, 17 attacks of the enemy army were stopped.
In the Vremivsky direction, an enemy assault near Velyka Novosyolka has been repelled. At this time, five more battles are taking place in the areas of Konstantinovka and Vodyanoye.
In the Orekhov direction, the invaders made three unsuccessful attempts to advance near Malaya Tokmachka. They received a tough rebuff.
Let us recall that over 1,300 Russians were killed on the front in 24 hours on July 28. The total losses of the Russian Federation since the beginning of the war are approaching 580 thousand people.
