Secret Service says it denied Trump additional resources in recent years even as his team complained |
2024-07-21 |
[CNN] Former President Donald Trump’s security detail had complained they were not being given enough resources and personnel by the Secret Service over the past two years, and the agency acknowledged Saturday it denied some requests. A spokesperson for the Secret Service said in a statement Saturday that the agency has not provided certain resources in the past but has instead provided other security measures including from local partners. The news comes amid widespread concerns about how a sniper was able to obtain rooftop access roughly 150 meters from Trump’s position at an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last week. The Washington Post and The New York Times reported earlier Saturday that the Secret Service denied previous request from Trump’s security team over the past two years. Some close to the former president felt the decisions, which they believed were personal to Trump, came from the top ranks of the agency. While Trump holds close relationships with members of his Secret Service detail, the relationship between those agents and the upper ranks of the agency has been tense for some time, according to multiple sources familiar with the dynamic. In response to questions from CNN over whether the Secret Service had denied additional security requests, a spokesperson told CNN the agency makes "modifications" when certain resources are not provided to protectees. "In some instances where specific Secret Service specialized units or resources were not provided, the agency made modifications to ensure the security of the protectee," Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the Secret Service, wrote in a statement. "This may include utilizing state or local partners.... Or 'Joe Shi* the Rag Man' from DHS. ....to provide specialized functions or otherwise identifying alternatives to reduce public exposure of a protectee." Emphasis added. |

#13 Just the most casual glance at the visible security at Butler fairgrounds at the time of the rally would have led a decent security team to directly tell the candidate "Sir, we cannot adequate protect you for this event. You must call it off." Has that ever happened, even once? |

#11 As all of this was unfolding, did ANYONE on the Butler Secret Service team contact folks monitoring in events from D.C.? Ask for guidance? You know damn well there's D.C. monitoring and reporting effort, either Secret Service, Homeland Security, FBI, or all three. Come on you sorry SOB's, come clean or leave the field. I'd like to hear from Erik Prince. Has anyone heard from him. How about JSOC at Fort Bragg? Opinions, comments ? |

#7 The security that day was deliberately weakened. While I'm not completely in the "They knew about the shooting and wanted Trump dead" camp (although they would shed no tears and private pop Champaign if he was), it was a deliberate process to bring the USS to that state. 1)First a DEI incompetent chief is pushed into the position by Jill 2) DEI hires and promotement are pushed through the agency preventing competent people from being hired or getting promoted. 3) USS refuses to give Trump more protection. And while it is USS policy to only give candidates the full protection, it was pretty bloody obvious Trump was the guy. 4) Jill decides to have an event on the same day as the rally pulling agents (and I'm assuming the more experienced ones) 5) Trump is now "protected" by his core group he had and a bunch of ones thrown in without adequate training and leaders. The stage was set for what happened. |

#6 The horse faced Secret Service director will likely resign just before testifying to congress, them plead the 5th. She was likely turning down the additional resurce requests for Trump as directed by the WH. No one under her would dare make such a decision, nor would she make the decision without POLITICAL COVER ! |
