| #7 China's woes were due to a hostile and aggressive UK that started repeated wars in an attempt to take over the world. This eventually bankrupted them and they had to give it up in favor of developing their own country. Let's follow their lead and skip to the end without the bankrupting wars with China. |

| #6 Sounds like the Chinese of the 19th Century. They figured their failure to keep true to the old ways was the cause of their downfall. The Japanese figured it was the technology and gave the West a run for its money in the 40s. By the late 80s the Chinese caught on. |
