#4  Denver raised taxes.

He should make that point.

The feds don’t have to fund it.

#3  You tell the cities and their state governments, we're not bailing you out. As more diseases break out, publicly identify them as hot zones for you and your families. Cities that have refused to report accurate crime stats can have their fed monies moved to those that report.

#2  Mercutio,

The idea here may be to make the process the punishment, especially if the GOP can catch both the House and Senate. Figure out some way to slow roll that money for EVERYBODY - I suspect that a fair amount of cities may start leaning on the others.

Another possibility is to redirect those funds to provide care for those the cities say they can't cover. "Hey, you guys say you can't afford these people, we only have so much money, we're helping you out!"

#1  Easier said than done absent legislation enabling withholding funds from offending jurisdictions (and/or making enabling violation of immigration laws a federal offense). Courts have held that absent such legislation, the Feds can't withhold funds. And I DO NOT want to see executive actions that usurp the legislative process whether it's by the Donks or Trunks.
