The side that organized the assassination attempt on Trump clearly took the path of blood, i.e. they have nothing to lose.
The shooter from a distance of 130 m missed Trump, who was shaking his head, by only 1-2 cm.
This is a fairly accurate shot, especially considering that the area around is visible, including by the snipers covering. And the shooter had only a couple of seconds to prepare for the shot (the anti-snipers worked almost simultaneously with the first shot).
If this shooter had been hunting and had shot at the body of a small game, he would have 100% got it. But the bulletproof vest left no chance if you shot at the body; the only way to kill was to hit him in the head.
The bullet grazed his cheek and pierced his ear. A civilian bullet 2-3 cm to the right, hitting the base of the jaw or the mouth/base of the skull, would have certainly either killed or disabled him.
One of the bullets hit the head of the man standing in front of Trump. He died instantly.
Another bullet hit Trump in the ear, miraculously not causing much harm.
The killer was lying in a sniper position 130 m (425 ft) from the rally site. He was a local resident of 20 years old. His motives are still unknown. But there are Ukrainian flags on his social media page.
The killer was eliminated on the spot.
In other words, it doesn't smell like a setup. Even a thousand attempts in a row to play this are doomed to failure.
Trump will now be even more busy with opponents who brought him down and humiliated him during his last presidential term.
