Hunter Smokes Massive Bear With Pistol
2024-07-08
[OutKick via Fox News] A man used a pistol to take down a massive bear.

Generally speaking, you need some serious firepower to take down a bear due to its massive size, strength and muscle makeup. You don't want to find yourself in a showdown with a bear and be unarmed or only have a small pistol.

However, in a pinch, you have to work with what you have, and that's what happened to a hunter in Alaska.

(More info and pictures of the bear in question at the link, just so you know, the guy used a 10mm pistol to put down the bear!)

#8  10 mm Auto is currently the preferred bear handgun. A Glock 20 will hold 15+1 10 mm rounds which are roughly equivalent to the .41 Magnum. More rounds, less recoil and easier to shoot compared to the .44 Magnum and bigger revolvers.

also known as the Corps of Discovery,
were the first to warn us back in 1804 of the dangers of trying to take down a charging grizzly bear with a single rifle shot.
