Palestinians flee 'in terror' with dead, wounded left on ground as Israel storms Gaza City |
2024-06-29 |
[GEO.TV] Palestinians fled eastern Gaza City on Thursday under heavy bombardment as the Israeli military issued an evacuation order for the area it had previously declared clear of Hamas fighters. The flare-up in the northern Gaza Strip’s Shujaiya district, which witnesses and medics said caused numerous casualties, comes as fears grow of a wider regional conflagration involving Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, a Hamas ally. In Gaza City, a witness in Shujaiya who declined to be named told AFP the situation was "frightening" as Israeli military vehicles approached amid air strikes and shelling. "Residents are running through the streets in terror... wounded and martyrs lie in the streets." |

#7 i know that they are incompatible cultures. what puzzles me is that israelis knowing they will be handed the short straw dont go for broke and just absorb gaza and west bank. forgiveness is easier to obtain than permission. once they have taken them who will throw them out. evict muslims. |

#6 ![]() BTW, Smuts was a leading advocate and promoter of the Balfour Agreement. Under the Balfour, in 1922, the League of Nations granted Britain a mandate over Palestine which included, among other things, provisions calling for the establishment of a Jewish homeland, facilitating Jewish immigration and encouraging Jewish settlement on the land. |

#5 Israel is a country that includes two enclaves of people whose religion orders them to kill jews. How can Israel continue to exist with those two existing? Would you continue to live in the same house as/with a person sworn to kill you? |

#2 Could that be referring to this, Grom, as reported by the Times of Israel: IDF confirms Shejaiya op; says it struck terrorists hiding in schools, humanitarian zone The IDF confirms it launched a new pinpoint operation in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood yesterday. The raid, being carried out by the 98th Division, comes following intelligence information on Hamas operatives and infrastructure in the area. The IDF says the division’s 7th Armored Brigade pushed into the Shejaiya area during the day, and overnight, the Paratroopers Brigade began to raid sites in the neighborhood. Dozens of Hamas sites were struck from the air as the ground forces pushed in, the military says. In separate “significant” strikes in northern Gaza, the IDF says it killed dozens of terror operatives who were holed up in a school and other UNRWA facilities. Meanwhile, overnight, the military says a fighter jet struck a Hamas operative in a building in central Gaza’s Deir al Balah, within the Israeli-designated “humanitarian zone.” “The terrorist operated from within the humanitarian area, which the organization uses as a shield for terrorist activity,” the IDF says. The military says that ahead of the strike, it worked to evacuate the civilian population from the area of the building. It also says it used aerial surveillance, a precision munition, and other means to mitigate harm to Palestinian civilians. |
