[Regnum] A Russian fighter-interceptor passed at high speed over the American reconnaissance drone Global Hawk, causing changes in the flight parameters of the drone, the author of the Telegram channel FighterBomber said on the basis of anonymity on the “333” program on Soloviev Live.
According to him, the fighter flew past by accident. It passed over the Global Hawk at a speed of Mach 2.3 (more than 2,800 kilometers per hour) and did not open fire.
“It just so happened. There were changes in the flight parameters, after which the American drone suddenly changed its mind about carrying out a combat reconnaissance mission and quietly went home,” said the author of the channel.
He emphasized that the event took place in neutral waters, flight routes over which states do not agree.
There is no official confirmation of this information. The Kremlin noted on June 26 that it had no information about an American drone allegedly shot down over the Black Sea.
The Ministry of Defense also did not confirm information about such an incident.
Late in the evening of June 24, information appeared in a number of military-themed Telegram channels about an alleged accident involving an American Global Hawk reconnaissance drone. A US drone was reported shot down or dislodged over the Black Sea.
As Regnum reported, US reconnaissance drones are periodically spotted in the skies over the Black Sea. Thus, on June 15, an American MQ-4C Triton drone, engaged in reconnaissance off the coast of Crimea, gave an emergency signal before landing at a NATO naval base in Italy. In the same month, an RQ-4 reconnaissance drone was spotted near Yalta.
