[Regnum] Russia must strengthen its Armed Forces and Navy in order to respond to the geopolitical risks and threats that are growing in the world. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 26 during a meeting on shipbuilding issues.
He also noted that such challenges must be taken as seriously as possible.
“We need to take this as seriously as possible, calculate all possible risks and plan adequate responses. Strengthen our Armed Forces and Navy,” said the Russian leader.
The head of state recalled that Russia regularly hears threats against it from some countries. In addition, according to Putin, the Russian Federation is faced with concrete steps to implement these statements.
As Regnum reported, on February 23, Vladimir Putin, during a congratulatory speech on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, noted that Russia, taking into account its combat experience, will continue to strengthen its Armed Forces, as well as carry out constant technical re-equipment and modernization. He recalled that the share of modern weapons and equipment in the strategic nuclear forces has reached 95%, and in the naval component of the “nuclear triad” - almost 100%.
At the end of February, during his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces had gained colossal combat experience during the special military operation. The head of state specified that a whole galaxy of talented commanders had formed in all levels of the Russian army, who take care of people, competently perform their tasks and use new equipment.

The Russian Navy needs to be protected from long-range missiles, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 26 at a meeting on shipbuilding issues.
According to the Russian leader, this should be done both in the places where the ships are based and in the areas of their operations.
“It is necessary to protect our fleet from possible attacks already at distant approaches to naval bases and areas of operation of our ships,” the head of state said.
He called for the development and acceleration of the implementation of remote threat detection systems, including countering unmanned aerial vehicles.
