'Hamas can't be eliminated', says IDF spokesman suggesting to provide alternative

[GEO.TV] Israel's top army spokesman said Wednesday that Hamas cannot be eliminated, prompting a knee-jerk reaction from the government which quickly reiterated it remains committed to the Palestinian fighter group's destruction.

After more than eight months of Israeli war, the occupational forces have failed to oust the the local freedom fighters from Gaza, however, they have brought widespread devastation.

"To say that we are going to make Hamas disappear is to throw sand in people's eyes. If we don't provide an alternative, in the end, we will have Hamas," Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told Israel's Channel 13 broadcaster.

"Hamas is an ideology, we cannot eliminate an ideology."

#7  We have a similar problem here, but it isn't geographic, it's institutional. Until the petri dish that harbors the modern left in America is sterilized, a vile and human hating ideology will plague us.

#6  You may not be able to eliminate an idea, but you can eliminate all the people in a particular geographic area who believe in it. The problem is not just the virulence of the ideology but the proximity of its True Believers and their ability to make mischief.
