Deputy Revenko: Putin’s initiatives are a real path to peace in Ukraine and the Eurasian continent

Putin noted that to start the negotiation process, Kyiv must withdraw troops from the territory of the regions that have reunited with the Russian Federation: the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Moreover, within the boundaries in which they existed during the period of their entry into Ukraine. Also, Ukraine should abandon plans to join NATO.
The Russian leader also named the fundamental conditions for peace: the non-bloc status of Ukraine, denazification and demilitarization, protection of the rights of Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine, recognition (including international) of Donbass, Novorossiya and Crimea as part of Russia. Basic agreements for a peaceful settlement must be fixed in international treaties.
As Revenko explained, the Russian President formulated real, not imaginary, security guarantees for Kyiv, as well as clear conditions based on the real state of affairs on earth, and not someone’s fantasies, that can become a real basis for peace negotiations.
“Delay threatens Kyiv with even worse starting conditions for negotiations, because they will certainly take into account the situation “on the ground,” and it is becoming more complicated every day for the Kyiv regime, developing into a disaster. Russia’s advantage is obvious,” the deputy said.
He noted that even though the leader of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, is not a legitimate figure, negotiations in the current conditions and taking into account Ukrainian legislation can be conducted by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

“The Russian leader is proposing a plan that can really lead to the end of the conflict, the beginning and roots of which are in the coup in Kiev in 2014, in the unleashed Civil War in the south-east of Ukraine and the murder of thousands and thousands of civilians who did not accept the coup and spoke out for independence in accordance with international law,” the parliamentarian emphasized.

“There will be no more US permissiveness. This is becoming a thing of the past. The President put forward initiatives of a global nature, the implementation of which could serve as the basis for the creation of a new comprehensive security system on the Eurasian continent, in the heart of which lies Russia. It is impossible to build a security system without the Russian Federation, without taking into account its interests,” the deputy said.
The parliamentarian recalled that Putin spoke about the main principle - not to ensure the security of one state at the expense of another. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in turn, expressed hope that Western countries will take Putin’s proposal seriously.
