#5  IKE really liked Patton. MacArthur and IKE graduated Annapolis much higher than Patton that year.

I met a fellow who lied about his age and joined the Calvary riding into Mexico under the command of Brigadier General John J. Pershing. 14 years old he was. The hardest life then. I met him when he was 104. Paper on the wall unframed of his service. He is dead now so I suppose I can give you his name, George Stagerwald (misspelled perhaps).

#4  On the 50th anniversary of D day I was sailing on the Rhine with a group of WW11 soldiers. One of the men on the ship was a radioman for Patton. He stated that they crossed over the River on the last bridge standing. Patton directed that it should be blown up because we weren't going back!

#3  my uncle landed there also. My father's ship was sunk in the Coral Sea. Both of them explained their wars to me when they were n their late 80's. The reason was because I was in the military. PTSD is my diagnosis. Sea war was a dinner bell for sharks.

Curious power in three words.

#1  Duty, the only four letter word you don't hear anything about nowadays.
