US urges Israel to protect civilians after Rafah strike
2024-05-28
[GEO.TV] Following a "devastating" strike on Rafah, the United States has urged Israel to take every precaution to protect civilians, according to the US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby.

"Israel has a right to go after Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
, and we understand this strike killed two senior Hamas ... [activists] who are responsible for attacks against Israeli civilians," Kirby was quoted by the Rooters as saying. "But as we’ve been clear, Israel must take every precaution possible to protect civilians."

"We are actively engaging the [Israeli army] and partners on the ground to assess what happened, and understand that [it] is conducting an investigation," he said.

#6  imo israel should absorb both gaza and west-bank quickly before world pressure gets to them. forgiveness is easier to obtain than permission.
which reminds me of something gen swartzkopf said. when asked if he could forgive enemies he replied...forgiveness is g-ds job. mine is to make the meeting.

#5  Incidentally: Airstrike on Hamas terror leaders was kilometer from Rafah refugee camps
from the initial findings that the IDF is now also presenting to the foreign media, it appears that the point of the attack was defined as an area from which Hamas carried out terrorist operations; Some 47 meters from the point of attack there was a Hamas rocket launcher, and a kilometer separated the safe zone that the IDF had set up for the displaced and the point of attack.
Make your own scenario.

#3  /\ "Surrender" of the remaining HAMAS factions is a scenario that Netanyahu would welcome.

The "Two State" solutions crowd, not so much. Make no mistake, the desired end state is the eventual Jewish exodus from the Muslim world

#1  Bibi should, but won't, reply: "Well, we don't have precision bombs - what you've withheld. But we'll try."
