[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting fierce battles in the east and south of Ukraine.
In the Pokrovsky direction, 12 military clashes are ongoing simultaneously. Six more Russian attacks have already been repulsed.
Russian invaders continue offensive operations in the Kharkov direction. At the same time, the largest number of enemy assaults remain in the Kupyansky and Pokrovsky directions. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in a report as of 16.00 on Wednesday, May 22.
“In the Kharkov direction, the invaders continue to put pressure in the Liptsy area. Our soldiers are also carrying out active operations. The total number of clashes has increased to eight. Another airstrike has been added on Volchansk,” the message says.
In the Kupyansk direction, 22 clashes have already occurred in the areas of eight different settlements. Confirmed total enemy personnel losses amount to 106 people. Two units of infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and vehicles were destroyed.
There is one battle going on in the Liman direction. Five more enemy attacks have already been repulsed today.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the total number of Russian attempts to improve the tactical situation increased to eight. The General Staff assures that the situation is under control.
In the Pokrovsky direction, 12 clashes continue in the areas of Novoaleksandrovka, Progress, Solovyevo, Sokol and Umansky. Six more attacks have already been repulsed.
“The enemy is suffering losses in manpower: irrecoverable - 68, sanitary - 140. Information regarding the affected military equipment is being clarified,” the message says.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, the total number of clashes increased to 10. The occupiers have already lost 81 people wounded and killed. A Russian tank was destroyed and two more were damaged.
In the Dnieper direction, four attacks of the invaders were repulsed in the area of the village of Krynki.
In other directions, the situation has not undergone significant changes.
