Parkland school deputy who was accused of failing to act in 2018 shooting asks demands police to pay his legal bills
2024-05-16
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Scot Peterson ranted outside a courtroom as he insisted he 'did nothing wrong'
That might fly in the rest of the world, but in America we have a bias toward action, which means that doing nothing wrong is completely wrong if you did not do at least something right.
  • The former cop was acquitted last year of failing to stop the Parkland massacre

  • Footage showed him waiting outside while Nicholas Cruz killed 17 people

TW you make a valid point.

PARKLAND TIMELINE. then click on Details button.

Starting around "2:24 PM: 2:24:14 (Peterson) “We’re talking about the 1200 building, it’s going to be the building off Holmberg Road.”

2:25 PM: Deputy reports shots fired by the football field.

Then it looks like Cluster Mess of misc info loaded the delay process.

So initially, Peterson stated he believed the gunshots were coming from outside the building. (like the April 20, 1999 Columbine High School, shooting scenario)

Either way there is no excuse for the 45 min delay.

#5  There was a cacophony of sins especially with regarding policies recommended by the Biden Administration. None of the systematic ills were investigated or addressed. Higher level accountability never happened. All of the blame was heaped on Scot Peterson. Like the Biblical scapegoat, Scot was cast out into the wilderness. Looks like he has wandered back.

#4   But wasn't he and others just scapegoats for higher ups?

As I recall, NN2N1, he also kept others from going into the building to intervene.

I have never read/heard this stated so succinct.

Admittedly, he and the others FAILED TO ACT in the Parkland mass shooting situation, cost lives. But wasn't he and others just scapegoats for higher ups?

HOWEVER,
But he does open a can of worms, that does need to be addressed.

Those that directed and/or applied malicious intent, should face Criminal Charges. Plus, those malicious persons should be forced to reimburse the wronged person(s) incurred costs from their own pockets and bank acct's.

NOT the Government.
Because when we boil it down. When Government pays, it is really using, you, the Taxpayer pocket $$$, to cover and fund their malicious acts.
