Belousov's future role is more of an auditor, a process regulator. And he is an experienced manager - after all, he is the second person in the government.
“Optimization” according to Serdyukovsky should definitely not be expected. This is definitely not about now.
I hope that the Ministry of Defense is waiting for a personnel shake-up of the ministry with the promotion of combat generals to the place of parquet generals.
That is, in fact, what already has happened. Two of Shoigu's top ministers, Ruslan Tsalikov AND Aleksey Krivoruchko were dismissed. Whether that means a total restructuring of the leadership of the ministry of defense is anyone's guess. Worth noting is that so far, the Russian Chief of General Staff, Valery Gerasimov is indicated as still the chief of staff.
I hope the practice of “positive reports to the top” will go away. Without real reports, it is impossible to admit shortcomings, which means it is impossible to correct them.
By the way, Belousov is notable for his bravura reports, but for his truth and substance.
I hope for Col. Gen. Sergey Surovikin’s return, even if not to the highest, but to a command position. Surovikin is a military general, he is needed at the front.
No indication so far whether Surovikin is out of Putin's dog house.
I hope that Gerasimov will receive his well-deserved honorable retirement.

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu will oversee the work of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), there is no talk of him being the direct head of this service, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on May 13.
“Shoigu will oversee the work of the FSMTC. There is no question that he will be the immediate head of this service,” the Kremlin representative explained.
According to the presidential decree on the structure of federal authorities, the FSMTC is directly subordinate to the head of state.
