“When increasing production volumes, we must take into account that new products need markets. Not only within the country, but also abroad. It is necessary to increase the volume of exports of non-resource and non-energy goods by at least two-thirds. And the supply of agricultural products is one and a half times,” he noted.
In the four years since the formation of the government in its current composition, the Cabinet of Ministers has been able to significantly increase the efficiency of the state apparatus and improve the coordination of the branches of government, Mishustin also said.
As Regnum reported, earlier on May 10, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced that President Vladimir Putin had nominated Mishustin for the post of prime minister. Voting on the issue of approving Mishustin’s candidacy will take place after his report, questions from deputies and speeches from representatives of political factions.
The speaker recalled that the State Duma will form the government for the first time in the modern history of Russia. Deputies will have to approve the candidacies of the prime minister, his deputies, and federal ministers in accordance with the new powers established by amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in 2020.
The Russian government in its entirety resigned before President Vladimir Putin took office on May 7. The Cabinet of Ministers headed by Mishustin worked for more than four years. Putin thanked the ministers for their work and instructed the outgoing government to work until a new cabinet of ministers is formed.
