In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Novomikhailovka, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 20 times to break through the defenses of our troops.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published operational information about the Russian invasion as of Monday evening, April 8.
“During the day, 48 military clashes were recorded. In general, the enemy launched three missile and 76 air strikes, fired 61 multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among civilian population. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged,” the report says.
In the Liman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack in the area of the village of Terny, Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out eight attacks in the areas of Belogorovka settlements in the Lugansk region; Verkhnekamennoye, Spornoe, Kleshchievka, Andreevka in the Donetsk region, where, with the support of aviation, he tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the Avdeevsky direction, our defenders repelled two attacks in the area of the village of Berdychi, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to oust our units from their positions.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Novomikhailovka, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 20 times to break through the defenses of our troops.
In the Orekhovsky direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out two attacks on the positions of our defenders in the area of the village of Staromayorskoye, Donetsk region and north-west of Verbovoye, Zaporozhye region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon his intention to oust our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. During the day, the enemy made three unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops.
During the day, Defense Forces aviation carried out strikes on four anti-aircraft missile systems and seven areas where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Units of the missile forces destroyed one air defense system, two electronic warfare stations and two areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
Let us recall that from February 24, 2022 to April 8, 2024, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 448,400 people.
