[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces hold back Russian offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The fiercest fighting continues in the Novopavlovsk direction, where the enemy made 22 attempts to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Since the beginning of the current day, 70 military clashes have already occurred at the front. Russian aggressors attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in seven directions, the General Staff reported on Saturday, March 2.
It is indicated that the enemy launched one missile and 48 air strikes, carried out 60 shelling with MLRS on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
In the Kharkov region, in the Kupyansky direction, the Russians attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Tabaevka area four times. The enemy launched airstrikes in the area of ​​the village of Berestovo. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvurechnaya, Berestovo, and Peschanoye in the Kharkov region.
In the Liman direction, our soldiers repelled seven enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Terny and Yampolevka, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defenses of our troops.
About 15 settlements were damaged by artillery and mortar shelling, including Nevskoye, Belogorovka in the Lugansk region and Terny, Yampolevka, Torskoye, Razdolevka in the Donetsk region.
In the Donetsk region, in the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bogdanovka, Ivanovskoye, Klishchievka and Andreevka, where the enemy tried to improve its tactical position.
The enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of ​​the village of Severnoye. Also, more than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Chasov Yar, Andreevka and Vasyukovka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdeevsky direction, our defenders repelled 14 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Berdich, Orlovka, Tonenkoye, Nevelskoye. The enemy launched an air strike in the area of ​​New York.
About 15 settlements were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Konstantinovka, Novobakhmutovka, Krasnogorovka, Orlovka, Pervomayskoye.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Pobeda and Novomikhailovka, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops 22 times. Conducted air strikes in the areas of Georgievka, Vodyanoye, Urozhainoye and Bogoyavlenka settlements in the Donetsk region.
More than 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Paraskoveevka, Konstantinovka, Ugledar, Blagodatnoye.
In the Zaporozhye region in the Orekhovsky direction, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack in the Robotinoy area. Conducted air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Staromayorskoye, Donetsk region, Verbovoye, Malaya Tokmachka and Robotino, Zaporozhye region.
About 20 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, including Gulyaypole, Malinovka, Malaya Tokmachka, Rovnopol, Pyatikhatki in the Zaporozhye region.
In the area of ​​responsibility of the Odessa OSUV in the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon the intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. The enemy made one unsuccessful assault attempt in the area of ​​​​the village of Krynki.
More than 25 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, including Kachkarovka, Lvov, Kherson, Stanislav, Tomina Balka, Inzhenernoe and Kazatskoe in the Kherson region.
During the day, Defense Forces aviation carried out strikes on 8 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated. The Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber this evening.
The missile force units destroyed one enemy artillery weapon.
Let us remind you that the first day of spring 2024 was the last for more than 900 Russian invaders. Also, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters burned more than 40 units of Russian armored vehicles, including 14 tanks.
