#3 About 100k work for the USDA. Of those, about 30k work for the Forest Service. I think the whistleblower is only talking about the HQ in Washington DC. Unfortunately, the problem here is the laws that have been passed by Congress. For example we still have Mohair subsidies, we have massive subsidies to help farmers grow sugar beets in North Dakota and Minnesota. Each of these requires employees to keep track of acreage, review applications, etc. |
