Divers have found wreckage, 5 remains from Osprey aircraft that crashed off Japan, US Air Force says
2023-12-04
[AP] TOKYO (AP) — U.S. and Japanese divers have discovered wreckage and the remains of five crew members from a U.S. Air Force Osprey aircraft that crashed last week off southwestern Japan, the Air Force announced Monday.

The CV-22 Osprey carrying eight American personnel crashed last Wednesday off Yakushima island during a training mission. The body of one victim was recovered and identified earlier.

The Air Force Special Operations Command said two of the five newly located remains have been recovered but their identities have yet to be determined. The joint U.S.-Japanese search operation is still working to recover the remains of three other crew members from the wreckage, it said.

The search is continuing for the two people who are still missing, it said.

Kicking and screaming with a gun to my head. The only way I'd fly on an Osprey.

#1  USMC Executive Flight Detachment at Quantico uses the Osprey for WH cargo hauling. Unless something has changed, I don't believe they are used for the transport of staff or security.

Japan grounded the Osprey last week. Don't know if the grounding has been lifted or not.

OBTW, I'm still waiting for the first JAB related mitochondrial casualty at the WH or Capital Hill. Some tough hombres. Only thing that takes'em down is old age.
