Five Guys customer slams chain for charging her FORTY TWO dollars for two burgers, two shakes and one portion of fries |
2023-12-02 |
[MAIL] A Five Guys customer's video complaining about the extremely high prices of the items at the fast-food chain has resurfaced on multiple social media platforms. Michelle Newell posted the clip to TikTok explaining that she and her husband had paid $42 for two cheeseburgers, a side of fries and two milkshakes. The visibly upset patron told viewers that the couple had visited a Five Guys location on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Newell shared her anger last year - but a check by DailyMail.com Friday evening confirmed it remains just as expensive to buy the same meal. Newell said she ordered a regular cheeseburger for herself, another cheeseburger with mushrooms for her husband and a side of fries. The couple also got two milkshakes. She said that 'we're absolutely done' and businesses are 'playing with their customers' . |

#16 In-N-Out in Carson City yesterday, Double-Double (two big patties, two slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions served piping hot and paper-wrapped), fries and a Coke, $9.89. Great quality, well paid staff, fastidiously clean locations. Entirely family owned, over 180 locations in CA and NV, very simple menu, they sell burgers. My understanding is they own every location outright, and buy everything from their own sources exclusively, never leverage new locations. |

#12 What, no prices on the menu for these items? I'd be angry if it was ordered via some delivery company and they marked it up with fees, but for these two idiots, no sympathy or empathy. |

#11 Imma gonna bet lil miss disney hair here has been actively pro every issue leading to price increases. And if being out $50 is a big hit, like it is with most people, check the prices instead of ding batting when handed the bill. I see the article is very careful not to mention where. "There is no inflation" The 90's: Well, it's a shake. It's milk and ice cream. It's five dollars. And they don't put bourbon in it or nothing. We don't know if it's worth five dollars but it's a pretty fucking good shake |

#10 ^Jeffrey Dahmer ate 5 Guys before there was a restaurant |

#9 I always liked 5 Guys burgers. Since I can't justify that amount of caloric intake in one sitting, the price is not an issue for me these days. |

#7 Just Priced a similar order from their website using Atlanta as a locale: Bacon Cheeseburger w/Mayo $12.49 Cheeseburger w/Mayo & Ketchup $11.09 Regular Fries $5.99 Milkshake Chocolate $5.49 Milkshake Vanilla $5.49 ----------------------- Subtotal $40.55 --------------- Taxes & Fees $3.25 ------------------ Order Total $43.80 How do we even know if it is even real Ground Beef vs the Lab grown stuff already on the shelves in some countries. But at $4.59 lb (GA) for 80/20 Angus Ground beef. That is a huge operating overhead markup none the less. |

#6 /\ Culver's in Jasper, Ga. is pretty good. Good service, reasonably priced. |

#5 Guess they chose to pay instead of walk. |

#4 Instead of Five Guys, find a Culver's. Better burgers, better prices and really good fish sandwiches for a chain. Used to be Wisconsin only, but they've spread out a lot over the last few years. |

#3 Banks are for play money. Given the FBI raided and kept the contents of safe deposit boxes, it's also not a storage location for real money. |

#2 /\ Take a US silver dollar to a teller window at your local bank and see how it is honored. |

#1 Checking this mornings value, a silver dollar is worth $19.67. So that is only a couple of 'real' dollars. That 'vanity' burger meal isn't that expensive, its that your money is worthless. |
