| #1 Misleading headline. One of the problems with the first test was it was too hard to get the rocket to explode. When it was obviously going nowhere due to engine failures, the destruct system was triggered, but it just punched holes in the structure. The rocket kept pinwheeling around for a while before suffering a structural failure and then it partially exploded. The FAA required the destruct system to be beefed up (more kaboom!) before the upcoming test. |
