[ColonelCassad] November 8 marked the 80th anniversary of the establishment of two iconic military orders of the USSR - Victory and Glory.
Over time, they became the standard symbols of that era and began to be replicated everywhere. Now they have firmly entered the cultural code of the nation.
But few people know that the final recipient of the design of the orders on the part of the “Customer” was Stalin personally, and the preliminary selection was carried out by A.V. Khrulev, through whom dozens of sketches went through. Moreover, it was Stalin who gave the final names to these orders, which at the initial stage were called “For Loyalty to the Motherland” (commander’s) and the Order of Bagration (soldier’s).
