“Another army corps, 7 divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments and one flotilla are planned to be formed next year,” he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council added that such measures are planned to be taken for the security of the country. According to him, the situation in the world remains tense.
Medvedev also said that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, from January 1 to October 25, 2023 , almost 385 thousand people entered military service in the interests of the Joint Group of Forces . Of these, 305 thousand people are contract military personnel, and about 80 thousand people are volunteers.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council clarified that the pace of selection for contract service has increased significantly. Every day, more than 1.6 thousand people enter into a contract with the armed forces.

He noted that absolutely all the officer-instructors leading the training of these regiments have combat experience behind them, including military personnel who were wounded and decided to return to service.
