Clashes between Turkish army and PKK in northern Duhok [Shafaq News] A military source in Duhok governorate reported on Sunday that armed festivities have erupted between the Ottoman Turkish army and Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) fighters in the northern part of the governorate. The source told Shafaq News Agency that "the festivities broke out in the areas of Sur Skiri, Dery, and Kwani, in the Amadiya district, north of Duhok. They are still ongoing, and it has not been confirmed whether there are any material or human losses." These areas have witnessed an escalation of armed conflict between the Ottoman Turkish military forces and the PKK fighters, as both sides compete for control of strategic areas within the Metin Mountain range. Turkish airstrike claims senior PKK leader's life in Kurdistan Region [Shafaq News] The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region confirmed the death of a high-ranking member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) following a Turkish airstrike. The incident occurred between two villages within the Amadiya district of Duhok Governorate on Saturday. The Counter-Terrorism Service stated, "A Turkish drone targeted a Kurdistan Workers' Party vehicle at 17:30 today, Saturday." The airstrike killed a prominent leader and two of his companions.
