2023-09-16
[8am] Local sources in Panjshir Province have reported the detention of four individuals from this province in Parwan Province, stating that these individuals were former soldiers of the previous government.

Sources, speaking to Hasht-e Subh on Wednesday, September 13th, disclosed that the Taliban

apprehended them nine days ago in Parwan Province, but their fate remains unknown at this time.

The sources have identified these individuals as Saifuddin, Mahfuz, Shah Wali, and Aynuddin, noting that three of them are brothers.

The detained individuals are originally from the Shatal district of Panjshir Province.

As of now, the Taliban have not issued any official statement regarding this matter.

It is worth mentioning that the Taliban have recently increased the detention of civilians and former government soldiers in various parts of the country, particularly in the northern provinces near Kabul.

Some residents of the northern provinces near Kabul have described the Taliban’s detention of civilians and former government soldiers as "extortion," alleging that the Taliban primarily detain these individuals for "money and weapons" but subsequently release them after receiving their demands.
