The clash occurred on Thursday night, August 31st, within the confines of Qarildi village, situated in the Khaja Bahauddin district. It was rooted in disputes between two separate factions within the Taliban.

This ~~violent~~ mostly peaceful episode comes in the wake of a recent attack by Taliban fighters of Pashtun ethnicity on the residence of Nasrullah, a member of the Tajik ethnic group. Nasrullah served as the bodyguard of Qari Tayeb, the deputy leader of the Taliban’s army corps in Kabul. This attack took place within the same Qarildi village.

The skirmish resulted in the loss of two lives from opposing sides within the Taliban factions.

Sources suggest that the conflict was exacerbated by the recent return of Qari Tayeb’s bodyguard to his hometown after several months of absence, seemingly triggering the eruption of hostilities.
