On the Shakhtarsky direction, the Russians made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the Staromayorske district of the Donetsk region.

In the Kupian direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks by Russian troops in the area north of Sinkivka and north-east of Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.
On Bakhmutskyi, our soldiers are firmly holding the defense and repelled enemy attacks on the outskirts of Klishchiivka and northeast of Druzhba, Donetsk region. And on Avdiyivka, under the heavy fire of Russian aviation and artillery, Ukrainian units repelled enemy attacks in the Avdiyivka region and southeast of Severny, Donetsk region.
In Maryinka , the Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Maryinka district of the Donetsk region. And in Zaporizhzhia, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region.
Over the past 24 hours, the Air Force of the Defense Forces has carried out 10 strikes on areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated, one on an anti-aircraft missile complex and another on the enemy's logistics hub.
During the day, units of missile forces and artillery hit three control points, five artillery pieces in firing positions, an area for the concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a radio-electronic warfare station and another important object of the occupiers.
At the same time, during the day, the Russians launched two missile and 28 air strikes, carried out 35 attacks from rocket salvo systems. 22 military clashes took place.
The situation at the front as of 18:00 on August 9 is as follows:
On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly;
in Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi , the Russians carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 30 settlements, in particular, Khrinivka, Huta-Studenetsk, Buchki, Gremyach of the Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Baranivka, Atynske, Stepne, Volodymyrivka in the Sumy region and Uda, Sosnivka, Graniv, Staritsa, Vovchansk and Nesterne in the Kharkiv region;
in Kupyansk, more than 10 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks by the occupiers, among them Figolivka, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, Podoli, Berestov of the Kharkiv region;
in Lymanskyi, the invaders carried out airstrikes in the districts of Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirnyi and Vesely, Donetsk region. The settlements of Nevske, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery fire;
on Bakhmutsky, the enemy carried out an air strike in the Klishchiivka area. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery shelling, including Malynivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Predtechine and Diliivka of the Donetsk region;
in Avdiivskyi, the Russians carried out an airstrike in the Avdiivka district of the Donetsk region. Avdiivka, Karlivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske of the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling;
on Maryinsky, the occupiers carried out an airstrike in the Krasnohorivka area of ​​the Donetsk region. Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Paraskoviivka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire;
on Shakhtarsky, invaders from aviation struck the Blagodatne, Staromayorske districts of the Donetsk region. Vugledar, Odradne, Velyka Novosilka, Blagodatne, Staromayorske of the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling;
in Zaporizhzhia, more than 15 settlements were hit by enemy artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Olgivske, Gulyaipole, Novoandriivka, Pyatikhatky, Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Nikopol of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
in Kherson, the Russians carried out airstrikes in the districts of Odradokamyanka, Lviv, and Komyshan of the Kherson region. More than 20 settlements, including Zolota Balka, Respublikanets, Odradokamyanka, Novotyaginka, Antonivka, and Veletenske of the Kherson region, the city of Kherson, were hit by enemy artillery fire. Kutsurub, Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, are entrenched at the achieved boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.
