#10  She should go to Champion, a unique American religious site.

#9  She's going to Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin, a suburb of Kenosha known for it's rapid industrialization, and only 57 miles from the Loop in Chicago.

NOT very rural. And it has giga speed internet available to almost everyone there.

#8  ...FWIW, we ditched the cable 10 years ago and never looked back. We pay $85/mo for internet, and about $40 for our streaming subscriptions. Throw a $35 digital antenna onto the TV and we're in business - we couldn't touch a decent cable tier for that.

#7  Every local gummint demanded big bux from the cable companies for their monopolies too. As outfits like Comcast went vertical with their forays into "content" - which are now turning into black holes for money - you are paying for Hollywierd dreck even if you don't have pay TeeVee attached to your internet service.

#6  Already covered by capitalism - Spacex Starlink. Not great for those MMO players, but for everything else it will be fine.

re: Comcast - you as a user are gouged not just by Comcast but the open broadcast television stations who Congress granted the right to basically tax the service. Open broadcast didn't cost because it made its money from commercials. Somehow it survived. It did so on licenses it pays very little on from the government. However, as cable and satellite engaged in rebroadcasting the signal they sought more revenue even through the actual broadcast was paid for. Hey, those paying for the commercials got an expanded audience. So our corrupt representatives granted them the tax in return for, you know, campaign contributions.

#5  I don’t think that Kamala is likely to connect with a uniformly white Wisconsin rural crowd as she pitches the racism of bad cable coverage.

#4  We just got hit with a Comcast 79 % internet increase here.

AT&T, WOW & Charter don't service this area, so there is no need for the ISP to be competitive in price or speeds.

What about 'stupid'?
