According to the sources, a gunboat belonging to the Eritrean Navy shot a Yemeni fisherman named Ibn al-Noussi al-Baydi, one of the sons of the village of Wahjah, Dhubab district, while he was fishing in Yemeni territorial waters, abruptly ejecting him from the gene pool.

Yemeni fishermen are subjected to repeated attacks by the Eritrean navy, which has resulted in the deaths and injures of fishermen, in addition to taking hundreds of Yemeni fishermen to Eritrean prisons and seizing their boats and equipment.

#1  This is the Yemeni point of view. Eritrea has claimed for years that Yemeni fishermen (and some pearl divers) have been poaching in their waters. A check of the map, and the island locations, will show how contentious this poaching can be.
