CNN legal analyst appalled by drawn-out Hunter Biden probe: 'This is preposterous'

The DOJ has been investigating President Biden’s 53-year-old son over possible violations of tax and money laundering laws stemming from his international business deals with Chinese and Ukrainian entities.

Hunter Biden is also under investigation for a possible false statement related to a gun purchase, a probe that that was initiated after his sister-in-law-turned-lover, Hallie Biden, threw away his handgun — leading to a search by Secret Service agents and a disclosure of the weapon’s sale to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

An October 2018 gun purchase form revealed Hunter — a crack cocaine addict at the time — answered "no" when asked: "Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?"

#8  I am sure the plan was to cover it up forever as it would not look very kosher to release the findings in Feb 2025. The ongoing investigation scam also allows the FBI to immediately complete a real investigation either to knife Joe at a convenient moment or for a CYA operation. We will see one of those or both now unless they can toggle back into a cover up if everyone stops paying attention. In this case the ongoing investigation will likely look like a team of horses dragging a railroad engine with its brakes set.

#6  Nothing is actually being 'investigated'. The 'investigation' is simply a cover so they won't have to 'comment on an ongoing investigation'.

And it will continue until cover is no longer needed.

#5  They're dragging it out because they want Joe to be reelected. From the bureaucracy's point of view, he is the perfect president. He is too slow and demented ever to get in their way--leaving them complete free rein to do whatever and whenever their little hearts please with no fear at all of intervention of opposition even to the most harebrained schemes they can imagine.

#3  ...Seems to me - and I could be wrong - that the Left is starting to realize that LaFamilia Biden , led by Mrs. Wilson Biden, is bound and determined that they're running for a second term. So, in the best tradition of this sort of thing, they're trying to discreetly slip in the stiletto: "Oh, you know Joe was okay, but Hunter was just too much baggage..."
